Privacy notice

Effective from 4 October 2026

This notice explains what personal data I process when you use the website alizkovacs.com (the “website”), why, for how long, and what rights you have. It is given under Article 13 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and Hungarian Act CXII of 2011 on informational self-determination. This is a translation; if the two versions differ, the Hungarian text prevails.

2. Contacting me by form or email

Data processed

Your name, your email address, the text of your message (including anything you choose to write in it) and the time the message arrived.

Purpose

To answer your enquiry and to stay in touch about it. I do not use the data for anything else, such as newsletters or advertising.

Legal basis

  • If your message is about a commission, a collaboration or a request for a quote: Article 6(1)(b) GDPR, taking steps at your request before entering into a contract.
  • For any other enquiry: Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, my legitimate interest in being able to answer messages addressed to me. Having weighed the interests, this does not unduly affect your rights: you start the contact, I ask only for what is needed to reply, and you may object at any time.

Retention

I keep messages for no longer than 12 months after the enquiry is closed (the last message exchanged), and then delete them. If the enquiry leads to a contract, I keep the correspondence until claims under the contract become time-barred, that is for 5 years after the contract ends (Section 6:22 of the Hungarian Civil Code), and documents supporting accounting records for 8 years (Section 169 of Act C of 2000 on accounting).

Do you have to provide the data?

Providing the data is voluntary, but without a name and an email address I cannot reply. Please do not include special categories of data (for example about health, religious or political beliefs) in your message, and include other people's data only if you are entitled to.

3. Preventing abuse

The form is protected against automated bulk messages (spam). For this, when a message is sent the system counts messages by your IP address for a short time (one minute at most), and the form contains a check field that visitors do not see. I do not store the IP address, attach it to the message or receive it. Legal basis: Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, my legitimate interest in the secure operation of the website.

4. Visiting the website

When you view the website, the hosting provider processes the data technically needed to serve it: IP address, time of the visit, address of the page requested, and browser and operating system type. This is needed to display the website and to deal with attacks and faults; the legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. I do not combine this data with other data or use it to identify you. The hosting provider keeps it for a limited time under its own policies.

5. Cookies and tracking

The website places no cookies on your device, uses no analytics, advertising or social media plug-ins, and builds no profile of you. Fonts and images are served from the website's own hosting, without third-party servers.

6. Who has access to the data?

Apart from me, the data is handled only by the following processors, on my instructions and under a data processing agreement:

  • Cloudflare, Inc. (101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA; EU representative: Cloudflare Portugal, Unipessoal Lda., Largo Rafael Bordalo Pinheiro 29, 1200-369 Lisboa, Portugália) – hosting the website and delivering messages sent through the form by email.
  • Google Ireland Limited (Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Írország) – provider of the mailbox the messages arrive in.

The website does not store form messages in a database: they go to my mailbox only. Beyond this I disclose data only where the law requires it (for example at the request of an authority).

7. Transfers outside the European Union

Cloudflare, Inc. is based in the United States, so data may be transferred outside the EU while the service is provided. The transfer relies on the European Commission's adequacy decision (EU) 2023/1795 (EU–US Data Privacy Framework), under which the provider is certified, and on the standard contractual clauses adopted by the European Commission. I will give further information on request.

8. Security

The website and the form are available over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. Only I have access to the messages, in a mailbox protected by a password and two-step verification. I carry out no automated decision-making or profiling.

9. Your rights

Under the GDPR you may at any time, free of charge:

  • ask for information about, and a copy of, the data I hold on you (right of access);
  • ask for inaccurate data to be corrected;
  • ask for your data to be erased where there is no longer a purpose or legal basis for processing it;
  • ask for processing to be restricted;
  • object to processing based on legitimate interest;
  • receive data processed on a contractual basis in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format (data portability).

Send your request to alizkovacs.scenography@gmail.com. I will answer without undue delay and within one month at the latest; where a request is complex this may be extended by two further months, of which I will inform you.

10. Remedies

If you believe the processing infringes your rights, please contact me first. Regardless of this, you may lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority:

Hungarian National Authority for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (NAIH)
1055 Budapest, Falk Miksa utca 9–11., Hungary · postal address: 1363 Budapest, Pf. 9.
ugyfelszolgalat@naih.hu · +36 1 391 1400 · www.naih.hu

If you live in another EU member state, you may also complain to the supervisory authority there. You may also bring the matter before a court; in Hungary, at your choice, before the regional court (törvényszék) of your place of residence.

11. Changes to this notice

I may update this notice if the processing or the law changes. The current version is always available on this page.
